Mark Hughes "pleased" with Villa point

Queens Park Rangers boss Mark Hughes admits that he was "pleased" with his side's point against Aston Villa on Wednesday evening.

Queens Park Rangers boss Mark Hughes has admitted that he was "pleased" with his side's point against Aston Villa on Wednesday evening.

Hughes also reserved special praise for Djibril Cisse, who scored on his Premier League debut against Villa.

"We were involved in a very important game for us [against Aston Villa], we came through it, 2-0 to the good we were in a decent position but you always expect Villa to come back at their own place ... in the end we are pleased we got the point we did," Hughes told reporters.

"That's four points from the last two Premier League games so hopefully we can add to that at the weekend."

When questioned on Cisse, whom they signed from Lazio on deadline day, Hughes said: "I think anybody who was there last night saw very quickly the qualities that he has ... in Italy he didn't enjoy the type of football they played ... he is very much a Premier League player in my view."

When questioned on this weekend's tie with Wolves, Hughes added: "You look at Wolves and you think they have been unlucky in a number of games this season ... they are always very committed. Any team managed by Mick [McCarthy] will be committed."

QPR welcome Wolves to Loftus Road on Saturday.
