Tim Sherwood has edged closer to the vacant Queens Park Rangers job, after it was confirmed that he will watch the West London side from the stands for their league game against Southampton.
Failed contract negotiations between Sherwood and QPR owner Tony Fernandes put the former Tottenham Hotspur boss's appointment in doubt earlier this week, but the appearance from Sherwood on Saturday could suggest otherwise.
The Englishman will receive a three-year contract with added-on bonuses if Sherwood can keep the club in the Premier League, according to The Mirror.
The 46-year-old is expected to be in charge for QPR's game against Sunderland next Tuesday.
Caretaker boss Chris Ramsey has also supported Sherwood's potential appointment, revealing that he would be happy to link up with him again.
