Aaron Hughes believes that his move to Queens Park Rangers is a "fresh, new challenge".
The defender has dropped down to the Championship after being released by Fulham, but says that the opportunity to help QPR in their bid for promotion was enough to convince him to make the switch.
"I don't see this as a drop down in class, I see it as a fresh, new challenge," Hughes is quoted as saying by the Belfast Telegraph. "The opportunity to come here was too good to turn down.
"QPR are a club looking to get back into the Premier League and if I can come in and help in some small way, I'll do my best to do that."
Hughes had made 17 appearances in all competitions for the Cottagers this season.
