Queens Park Rangers have reportedly moved to the brink of signing Jiangsu Suning defender Trent Sainsbury.
The centre-back has spent the last two-and-a-half seasons contracted to the Chinese Super League side, but he has recently had loan spells at Inter Milan and Grasshoppers Zurich.
During the World Cup, the agent of the Australia international suggested that the 26-year-old was keen on securing a move to one of the top divisions in Europe, and it appears that Sainsbury will be plying his trade in the Championship next season.
According to The Sun journalist Alan Nixon, QPR are close to completing the signing as they look to boost their squad ahead of the new campaign.
As it stands, the only first-team arrival at Loftus Road is that of German defender Toni Leistner, who has signed from Union Berlin.
