Queens Park Rangers boss Harry Redknapp has revealed that he will be looking to sign a striker during the January transfer window.
Charlie Austin has scored half of the R's 14 goals in the Premier League this season, including the winner during Saturday's 3-2 victory over Leicester City.
"We do need some cover," Redknapp is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "We need some strikers as you need options to change it up. That's an area will look at. There won't be a lot of activity but if we can strengthen one or two areas we will."
QPR have been linked with a move for Toronto striker Jermain Defoe in recent weeks, but Redknapp believes that it will be difficult to lure the England forward to Loftus Road.
"He has a great contract where he is but it will be hard for someone to afford him. I love him as a player but it will be hard," the 67-year-old added.
Queens Park Rangers are back in Premier League action on Tuesday night when they face Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.
