Queens Park Rangers have reportedly approached Ajax about the possibility of taking Kolbeinn Sigthorsson on loan for the rest of the season.
The Iceland international's wage demands were believed to be behind QPR's failed move in the summer, but Harry Redknapp remains keen on bringing a striker to the club this month.
According to the Evening Standard, QPR are eager to sign Sigthorsson on loan, and would be open to a permanent deal if they manage to avoid relegation this season.
Sigthorsson's brother and agent Andri recently told members of the media: "I hope he leaves quickly. A player with the qualities of Kolbeinn needs weekly ninety minute playing in his own position."
The 24-year-old has scored five goals for Ajax this season.
