Kenny McDowall offers to resign as Rangers caretaker-manager

Kenny McDowall offers to resign from his position as caretaker-manager of Rangers.

Kenny McDowall has tendered his resignation as caretaker-manager of Rangers.

The 51-year-old only took over from Ally McCoist in December, but has cited personal reasons for leaving.

However, he will stay with the club for the next 12 months, which is the length of his notice period.

"Kenny McDowall has tendered his resignation as caretaker manager of Rangers Football Club, citing personal reasons for stepping down," read a statement from the club.

"Kenny, who has been a fantastic servant of the club, will serve his 12-month notice period, during which time he will remain 100% committed to his normal duties.

"The club respects Kenny's decision and he will continue to have the full support of everybody at Rangers."

Rangers are currently second in the Scottish Championship table.
