Scottish Championship Roundup: Rangers drop vital points

Sports Mole rounds up Saturday's Scottish Championship action as Rangers drop two points in drawing 1-1 with Alloa Athletic.

Rangers dropped two vital points at the top of the Scottish Championship after labouring to a 1-1 draw against Alloa Athletic on Saturday.

Lee McCulloch had put Rangers in front at Ibrox with a headed goal from a corner, but Liam Buchanan equalised for Alloa when he followed up the rebound from Kevin Cawley's shot.

Neither Hibernian or Queen of the South could take advantage of Rangers' slip-up as they drew 0-0 in a game of few real opportunities at Easter Road.

Raith Rovers closed the gap on the promotion spots with a 2-1 win against bottom-of-the-table Cowdenbeath, while Dumbarton edged past Livingston to climb up to seventh.

Daniel Mullen had opened the scoring for Livingston, but Mitchel Megginson and Garry Flening secured the points for Ian Murray's men.
