Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos is ruled out of Sunday lunchtime's Old Firm derby against Celtic due to a muscle injury.
The 25-year-old was pictured on crutches at Glasgow Airport yesterday after flying back from international duty in South America with Colombia.
Morelos did not feature in either of Colombia's final two World Cup qualifiers and Gers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst has now revealed that the striker will not be involved in this weekend's crucial Premiership showdown with the Hoops.
"Morelos will be assessed and hopefully we can give more news after the weekend," van Bronckhorst told reporters on Friday.
"Unfortunately for all of us he won't be with us on Sunday, we won't have him back in the next couple of weeks."
Morelos, who has scored 19 goals and registered eight assists in 42 appearances this season, is also set to miss Rangers' Europa League quarter-final first-leg tie against Portuguese outfit Braga next Thursday.
Kemar Roofe or Fashion Sakala, who were both unavailable to represent Jamaica and Zambia respectably during the international break due to illness, are in contention to play on Sunday, with the former seemingly the most likely candidate to replace Morelos in attack.
Rangers could move level on points with Glaswegian rivals Celtic at the top of the Premiership table if they can claim all three points at Ibrox.
