Rangers have beaten East Fife 2-0 in their Scottish League One fixture today at Ibrox, thanks to a brace from Northern Ireland international Dean Shiels.
The Glasgow club took the lead after four minutes, when a corner fell to Shiels just inside the box and he rocketed a shot low into the bottom corner.
Just a minute later, Andy Little received a booking for a dive inside the East Fife box.
Midway through the second half, some good play between Bilel Mohsni and Lee Wallace set up Fraser Aird on his way down the left-hand channel, but after turning his man, his shot was saved.
Just three minutes later, Liam Buchanan found himself free inside the box, but Mohsni was able to block his shot.
Buchanan threatened again in the 34th minute, but Nicky Law was the obstacle this time, stopping his effort.
In the last five minutes of the half, Jon Daly received a ball inside the box, the big striker doing well to evade two defenders, but he shot over the bar.
In the second half, the Gers doubled their lead in the 64th minute, courtesy of Shiels's second goal of the game. A Little flick inside the box flew straight into the striker's path, who then fired past Fifers keeper Greg Paterson.
Just a minute later, Aird fired a powerful shot on the angle from distance, forcing an acrobatic tipped save by the keeper.
Towards the end of the game, the same player sent a sweeping ball to Daly at the back post. Daly cut it back from the touch-line to Little, but he couldn't reach it.
Not long after, Aird nearly made it three, as he drifted inside from the left and fired from distance, but it whistled just by the top corner.
