James Beattie's contract at Rangers has been terminated by mutual consent.
The former Southampton striker joined the Ibrox club last year, but spent the second half of last season on loan at Blackpool.
The Gers have also allowed John Fleck, Kyle Hutton and Andrew Little out on loan.
Fleck and Hutton have signed for League One side Sheffield United, while Little joins League Two club Port Vale until January.
