Reading boss Brian McDermott admits to being pleased with his side's composure to come back and beat Crawley Town in the 3-1 win this afternoon.

Reading boss Brian McDermott has admitted that he was pleased to get the result in the 3-1 win over Crawley Town in the FA Cup third round.

The Royals came from a goal down inside 15 seconds to get themselves into the next round of the competition.

McDermott was encouraged by his side's composure and hopes that it will help the side to kick on to get a result against West Bromwich Albion in the league next week.

"It was about coming and trying to get a result and do the basics as well as we could, which we didn't in the first 14 seconds," said McDermott.

"We made a few changes but we put out a team we thought could win and that is what happened. It has turned out to be an okay day. I am pleased to be in the next round.

"It was important we won today and we have done that, we are in the results business and we need to get a result against West Brom."

Reading had just one victory in the past ten games prior to today's FA Cup win.
