Leigertwood has not played this season after undergoing an ankle operation in the summer, while a hip injury has kept striker Roberts on the sidelines.
"They are both back on the training field and have been making progress. It will be nice to have them both back in contention," Hammond told PA.
Reading currently sit ninth in the Championship.
