Reading boss Brian McDermott admits that he is the favourite to become the next Premier League manager to be sacked.

Reading manager Brian McDermott has admitted that he is the favourite to become the next Premier League boss to get the sack.

The Royals are six points adrift of safety in the table following Tuesday's 3-0 defeat at fellow strugglers Sunderland.

"I'm favourite to go first, we all know that," McDermott told Sky Sports News. "Sixteen games ago I'd have been 50-1, now I'm 7-4. That's how it works in football and I completely understand because it's a results-driven business."

Reading host Arsenal at the Madejski Stadium in the league on Monday night.
