Barnsley goalkeeper Luke Steele saved two second-half penalties to help his side claim all three points away at Reading this afternoon.
Stephen Foster put the visitors in front before the half-hour mark with a header.
Ian Harte was the first Royals player to see his spot-kick saved after Jay McEveley fouled Jimmy Kebe.
McEveley conceded a penalty again, this time fouling Hal Robson-Kanu, but Noel Hunt saw another kick saved by Steele.
Matt Done doubled the Tykes' lead on 68 minutes, before Robson-Kanu finally scored from the spot when Rob Edwards fouled Hunt.
The win takes Barnsley up to 15th place, while Reading occupy 13th.
