Former Real Madrid man Royston Drenthe set for Reading exit

Reading decide not to allocate Royston Drenthe a number for the upcoming season.

Royston Drenthe looks set to leave Championship club Reading after not being allocated a squad number for the upcoming season.

The ex-Real Madrid winger, 27, joined the Royals last summer but appeared in just half of the club's league games in 2013-14.

According to Sky Sports News, Drenthe has been training with the club's Under-21 side and has been told by manager Nigel Adkins that he can find a new club.

He still has a year left on his contract at the Madejski Stadium.
