Anton Zingarevich: 'Reading could have spent more'

Reading owner Anton Zingarevich admits that the club could have spent more money in the January transfer window.

Reading owner Anton Zingarevich has admitted that the club could have been more active in the January transfer window.

The Royals, who are currently two points above the relegation zone in the Premier League, brought in four new faces to the Madejski Stadium last month.

However, Zingarevich insists that more money will be spent on the squad in the summer.

"We could have probably done more, you can always spend more money," he told the Reading Post. "Spending money is easy. We wanted to achieve something, which was to make the squad competitive and make sure that it was getting us over the line.

"We have done a lot of scouting over the past few months and we know pretty much every single player in Europe. So come the summer, it is much easier."

Reading travel to Stoke City in the Premier League on Saturday.
