Top 5 Champions League goals of all time - #5

Sports Mole's countdown of the top five Champions League goals of all time begins with number five - Mario Mandzukic's hooked volley against Real Madrid.

Mario Mandzukic vs. Real Madrid

Juventus 1-4 Real Madrid
June 3, 2017
Principality Stadium

Years from now, the 2017 final in Cardiff will be remembered as the one in which Real Madrid became the first side to retain the trophy in the Champions League era.

Long before Cristiano Ronaldo tightened his grip on the game, though, with his side eventually running out 4-1 winners, Juventus gave Los Blancos a real run for their money at the Principality Stadium.

Mario Mandzukic was responsible for the best goal of the game to make it 1-1, hooking the ball over Keylor Navas to round off an impressive team move in which the ball did not touch the ground for a good five seconds.

From Leonardo Bonucci's searching pass to Alex Sandro, to the Brazilian's volleyed pass into the path of Mandzukic, to the first-time finish into the top corner - this was a goal that combined team work with individual brilliance.
