Real Madrid team news: Injury, suspension list vs. RB Leipzig

Sports Mole rounds up all of Real Madrid's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's Champions League last-16 second leg with RB Leipzig.

Ninety minutes away from a familiar place in the Champions League quarter-finals, Real Madrid host RB Leipzig in the second leg of their last-16 tie on Wednesday night.

Carlo Ancelotti's men eked out a 1-0 victory over their German counterparts in the opening fixture on February 13, where Brahim Diaz struck the only goal at the Red Bull Arena.

Since then, Los Blancos have remained in control of their La Liga title destiny, although they dropped two points in a 2-2 stalemate with Valencia on Saturday night, coming from two goals down to rescue a draw thanks to a Vinicius Junior double.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Real Madrid's injury and suspension news ahead of their second leg with Leipzig, who demolished VfL Bochum 4-1 in their most recent Bundesliga contest.

Eder Militao

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: April 21 (vs. Barcelona)

Prior to the four-goal stalemate with Valencia, Ancelotti revealed that ACL victim Eder Militao is on track to make his comeback after the showdown with Mallorca on April 14, which comes seven days before El Clasico against Barcelona.

Thibaut Courtois

Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: April 21 (vs. Barcelona)

Similarly, Thibaut Courtois - who has spent the whole season on the sidelines with a similar injury - could also make his competitive comeback against the reigning champions next month, although he still has weeks of rehabilitation ahead of him.

David Alaba

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

In contrast, David Alaba - the third member of Real Madrid's defensive troupe to damage his ACL this term - is not as far along in his recovery and will not don the Blancos jersey again until next season.

REAL MADRID'S SUSPENSION LIST

Jude Bellingham was sent off in the final seconds of Saturday's draw with Valencia, but his suspension is only valid for domestic contests, meaning that Real Madrid have no players banned for the second leg with Leipzig.
