Jese Rodriguez: 'We can turn it around in Spain'

Real Madrid attacker Jese Rodriguez insists that his team can still overcome Wolfsburg in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, despite their first-leg defeat.

Real Madrid attacker Jese Rodriguez has insisted that his team can still progress into the semi-finals of the Champions League, despite their quarter-final first-leg defeat at Wolfsburg on Wednesday night.

Goals from Ricardo Rodriguez and Maximilian Arnold saw Wolfsburg win 2-0 in Germany, leaving Real Madrid with a mountain to climb in the second leg at home next week.

Jese, however, who came on as a second-half substitute at the Volkswagen Arena, has claimed that 'with the support of the fans', the 11-time European Cup winners can turn the tie around on home soil.

"They are very strong here. This is football and you can also lose matches," Jese told reporters.

"I'm sure that in the Bernabeu with the support of our fans we're going to turn the tie around. We have to support the team. We all win and lose together. In the Bernabeu we have to play for our lives, for our fans and for ourselves."

The defeat for Real Madrid was their first in the Champions League this season.
