Team News: Sergio Ramos returns to Real Madrid starting XI against Sporting Lisbon

Real Madrid make one change to their starting XI ahead of their Champions League trip to Sporting Lisbon, with captain Sergio Ramos replacing Nacho in defence.

Real Madrid have made one change to their starting XI ahead of Tuesday night's Champions League Group F trip to Sporting Lisbon.

Club captain Sergio Ramos returns from injury to line up alongside Raphael Varane at the heart of the Blancos defence.

Up front, Lucas Vazquez continues to fill in for the recovering Karim Benzema - named on the bench - and lines up alongside Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Sporting, meanwhile, have made wholesale changes to their squad from their previous game, a 5-1 thrashing of Praiense in the Taca de Portugal.

Only midfielders Bruno Cesar and Andre Silva retain their places from the domestic cup game, with Jorge Jesus bringing back a slew of rested first-team players.

Sporting Lisbon: Patricio; Pereira, Coates, Semedo, Marvin; Gelson, Adrien, William, Ruiz; Cesar, Dost
Subs: Beto, Schelotto, Oliveira, Elias, Campbell, Markovic, Andre

Real Madrid: Navas; Carvajal, Varane, Ramos, Marcelo; Modric, Kovacic, Isco; Vazquez, Bale, Ronaldo
Subs: Casilla, Nacho, Benzema, James, Coentrao, Asensio, Danilo
