Fernando Torres scored twice as Atletico Madrid booked their spot in the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey with a 2-2 draw against Real Madrid on Thursday evening.

Atletico entered the match with a 2-0 lead from the first leg last week and that became three inside the first minute when Torres finished into the top corner.

Sergio Ramos headed an equaliser for the home side after 20 minutes, but Torres completed his brace early in the second period to leave the hosts needing four goals to make the next round.

Cristiano Ronaldo did register after 54 minutes, but that was where the scoring ended at the Bernabeu.

Goal

Keylor Navas: Will have been disappointed to see Torres's second end up in the bottom corner. Aside from picking the ball out of his net on two occasions, the stopper had little to do. (6/10)

Defence

Dani Carvajal: So often a threat in the final third of the field, but the right-back was a little withdrawn here. Picked up a late booking on what was a frustrating evening for the defender. (6/10)

Pepe: Was guilty of falling asleep inside the first minute, but the Portuguese had a decent evening before leaving the field with a rib injury just before the hour. (6/10)

Sergio Ramos: As usual, it was an eventful night. Scored his side's first with a towering header, but was guilty of conceding possession too many times in dangerous areas. (6/10)

Marcelo: Quite comfortably his side's best defender on the night. Caused Atletico problems in the final third with a number of dangerous deliveries from wide positions. (7/10)

Midfield

Toni Kroos: Set up Ramos for Real Madrid's first with a beautiful free kick and controlled the tempo from a deep position. Radiated class each time he had possession of the ball. (7/10)

Isco: Plenty of movement and guile in the final third, but it did not really happen for the Spaniard. Had a golden chance late on, but fired straight into the body of Jan Oblak. (6/10)

James Rodriguez: Really struggled to make his mark against the Spanish champions. Was once again deployed in midfield and he never saw enough of the ball. (5/10)

Attack

Gareth Bale: Always looked a threat in the final third and set up Ronaldo for Real Madrid's second with a brilliant cross. Unlike last weekend, there were no whistles from the crowd. (6/10)

Karim Benzema: Bits and pieces, but no more than that from the Frenchman. Had some golden chances, especially in the second period, but failed to find the target. (5/10)

Cristiano Ronaldo: Scored his side's second with a clever header after 54 minutes, but it was a frustrating night for the attacker, who was so well-marshalled by the Atletico defence. (6/10)

Substitutes

Raphael Varane: Replaced Pepe just before the hour and slotted effortlessly into the back four. Showed his incredible pace during a number of Atletico counter-attacks. (6/10)

Jese Rodriguez: Given the final 20 minutes, but the Spaniard saw little of the ball. (5/10)

Goal

Jan Oblak: Had a bit of a horror for Real Madrid's first when he got nowhere near Kroos's free kick, but the stopper improved as the match developed and made some smart saves. (6/10)

Defence

Juanfran: So often a threat in the final third, but the Spaniard was more focused on his defensive work here. Frustrated Bale and Ronaldo for long spells of the contest. (7/10)

Diego Godin: Another towering defensive performance from the Uruguayan, who made a number of crucial blocks in the capital. Surely the best centre-back in the world at the moment. (8/10)

Miranda: Has lost his place to Jose Gimenez in recent weeks, but the Brazilian made his point with a strong and classy performance at the heart of the Atletico defence. (7/10)

Guilherme Siqueira: Given the nod over Jesus Gamez, who struggled against Barcelona at the weekend. Used his pace to help frustrate Real Madrid in wide areas. (6/10)

Midfield

Mario Suarez: Has been strongly linked with a move away from Atletico in recent weeks, but the Spaniard showed his commitment to the cause with a solid midfield display. (6/10)

Koke: Did not have too many chances to make his mark in the final third, with the midfielder needed in a deeper position. Never stopped working on another impressive night for the Spaniard. (7/10)

Tiago: Given the nod over Gabi in the middle of the park, but the Portuguese found it difficult to stamp his mark on the game. Did not see too much of the ball. (6/10)

Attack

Raul Garcia: Did not really stick to a rigid position, but still contributed in all areas. Not too much in the final third, but he was prepared to help the midfield whenever needed. (6/10)

Fernando Torres: Showed that he still has plenty left in the tank at this level of football with an impressive double at the Bernabeu. Both goals were of the highest standard. (8/10)

Antoine Griezmann: Had a very good evening in Madrid. Set up Torres for both of the Spaniard's goals and always looked a threat in the final third. Vital to his side's progression. (8/10)

Substitutes

Arda Turan: Was a surprise non-starter at the Bernabeu, but the Turkish international's experience and guile were needed in the final 30 minutes. (6/10)

Gabi: Replaced Griezmann after 74 minutes and helped his side retain possession of the ball. (6/10)

Raul Jimenez: Showed some flashes of his promise in the final 10 minutes. (6/10)
