Real Madrid left-back Marcelo has insisted that his side must beat Sevilla on Wednesday evening.
Madrid were beaten 4-3 in El Clasico by Barcelona on Sunday, but remain one point ahead of the current champions in the La Liga table.
"We tried to do as the coach told us to do. We would like to always play well and keep a clean sheet. It's difficult with 10 men," he told reporters.
"The league wouldn't be over if we'd have won today. Now we have to keep fighting and win at Sevilla."
Atletico currently top the Spanish league due to their superior head-to-head record over Los Blancos.
