Real Madrid have doubts over four midfielders ahead of Sunday's Spanish Super Cup final against Barcelona.

Luka Modric was not involved in Thursday's 3-0 win over Mallorca in the semi-finals of the competition due to an illness, and it is difficult to imagine him recovering in time to be involved on Sunday due to the quick turnaround.

Aurelien Tchouameni (head), Federico Valverde (overload) and Jude Bellingham (overload) will all need to be assessed, meanwhile, after picking up issues in the final-four clash.

Valverde and Bellingham are expected to be cleared to take to the field for the first whistle, though, while Tchouameni told reporters after the game against Mallorca that he is expecting to be involved against Barcelona.

Eder Militao and Dani Carvajal are long-term absentees, while David Alaba is not yet ready to play despite being named in the squad, with the Austrian instead set to feature in La Liga before the end of January.

Head coach Carlo Ancelotti will certainly be wary of naming the same side considering the quick turnaround, but due to his desire to claim a third trophy of the campaign, it may be a case of same again.

There had been concerns over Vinicius Junior's involvement in the Spanish Super Cup after he was sent off against Valencia in La Liga earlier this month, but the Brazilian is available, with his upcoming two-game ban set to be served in Spain's top flight.
