How Real Madrid could line up against Eibar

Sports Mole looks at how Real Madrid could line up in Saturday's La Liga clash with Eibar.

Real Madrid will be looking to build on Wednesday's 6-0 win over Galatasaray when they resume their La Liga campaign away to Eibar this weekend.

Zinedine Zidane's side thumped the Istanbul giants in the European Cup during the week and will now attempt to return to winning ways in La Liga having been held at home by Real Betis last time out.

Madrid are currently second in Spain's top flight, but the capital giants are level on points with leaders Barcelona heading into the next set of domestic matches.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Madrid could line up against Eibar on Saturday night.

POSS RMA XI vs. EIB

Out: Marco Asensio (knee), Nacho (knee)
Doubtful: James Rodriguez (muscular), Gareth Bale (calf), Marcelo (unknown)

Madrid will again be without the services of Marco Asensio and Nacho due to knee injuries, while neither Gareth Bale nor James Rodriguez is expected to recover in time for this weekend's contest.

Bale has missed Madrid's last five games with a calf problem, while Rodriguez has been absent from the last three with a muscular issue, and the pair remain doubts for the clash with Eibar.

Marcelo could also miss out this weekend as the Brazil international had to be replaced in the first half of Wednesday's clash with Galatasaray. Madrid are yet to provide an update on the defender, although it seems likely that Ferland Mendy will feature at left-back with no risks being taken.

Elsewhere, Luka Modric should return to the middle of the park having been named on the bench during the week, but the front three is expected unchanged.

Rodrygo Goes scored a stunning Champions League hat-trick during the week, and the teenager has emerged as Zidane's first choice to join Eden Hazard and Karim Benzema in the final third of the field.

That said, there are plenty of options for change should Rodrygo be rested, with the likes of Isco, Lucas Vazquez, Luka Jovic and Vinicius Junior all available for the capital giants.
