Real Madrid team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Paris Saint-Germain

Sports Mole rounds up Real Madrid's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's Champions League showdown with Paris Saint-Germain.

Real Madrid get their Champions League campaign underway on Wednesday night when they take on Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes.

The fixture represents a mouthwatering start for everyone involved, especially boss Zinedine Zidane given his success with France during his playing career.

Los Blancos head into the game having put together a four-match unbeaten streak in La Liga, while also desiring to improve on their last-16 exit to Ajax during the last campaign.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Real's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the match at the home of the Ligue 1 champions.

Luka Modric

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: September 18 (vs. PSG)

Modric picked up a thigh problem while on international duty with Croatia, and it was enough to keep the midfielder out of Saturday's La Liga fixture. Zidane will want to have the veteran at his disposal on Wednesday, although he is unlikely to take any risks on the player given the weekend's trip to Sevilla.

Marco Asensio

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Having sustained a serious knee injury during pre-season, Asensio will be sidelined until at least the spring.

Brahim Diaz

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: September 22 (vs. Sevilla)

Diaz is closing in on a return from a groin injury sustained last month, although the former Manchester City youngster is unlikely to play any part of the fixture at the Parc des Princes.

Isco

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: September 22 (vs. Sevilla)

Isco joined Madrid's growing injury list late last month after picking up a hamstring strain in training. While the game on Wednesday night may come too soon for the playmaker, he may be available for the clash with Sevilla on Sunday.

REAL MADRID'S SUSPENSION LIST

Nacho will play no part of the fixture on Wednesday night having been handed a red card in the second leg of last season's knockout fixture with Ajax.
