James Rodriguez to miss Club World Cup?

Real Madrid attacker James Rodriguez could miss the Club World Cup later this month, according to Los Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti.

Real Madrid Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that James Rodriguez suffered a calf injury in Saturday's 3-0 win over Celta Vigo.

As a result, the Colombian international is a doubt to represent the Spanish side in the Club World Cup later this month.

Los Blancos are in action on December 16 in Morocco, where they will face either Cruz Azul or Western Sydney Wanderers in the semi-finals, before the final takes place four days later.

"I don't think James will be able to play. Calf injures can sometimes take a little longer to heal, meaning it's difficult to see him recovering in time (to feature)," Ancelotti told Mediaset.

James has scored nine goals in 24 games for Madrid this season.
