Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema will not be involved in Saturday's La Liga clash with Elche.
The 33-year-old has been in excellent form for Carlo Ancelotti's side during the 2021-22 campaign, scoring 11 times and registering eight assists in 13 appearances in all competitions.
Benzema has recently been struggling with a foot problem, though, playing through the pain barrier against Barcelona and Osasuna after picking up the issue against Sheriff Tiraspol in the Champions League.
The France international was not pictured training with Real Madrid on Friday, as the capital giants prepared for Saturday's clash with Elche.
The experienced centre-forward has been left out of the squad entirely for this weekend's game, but he is expected to be available for next week's Champions League clash with Shakhtar Donetsk.
Benzema has scored nine times and registered seven assists in 10 league outings for Ancelotti's side during the 2021-22 season.
Real Madrid are currently second in La Liga on 21 points, three points behind division leaders Real Sociedad, who have played a game more than Los Blancos.
