Barcelona defender Dani Alves insists that the La Liga title race is not over yet.

Barcelona defender Dani Alves has claimed that the La Liga title race is not over, despite his side being six point behind leaders Real Madrid.

The Catalan club suffered a shock 1-0 defeat away at Getafe on Saturday evening, while Real ran out 4-1 winners in the Madrid derby to open up the gap.

"Many would hand the league over to Real Madrid now and they are letting off fireworks," said the Brazilian. "But the challenge is exciting and it fascinates us. And luckily for us there is still a long way to go."

The two sides play next weekend before they meet in the league at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday, December 10.
