Carlo Ancelotti: 'Title race will go to the wire'

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti believes that the race for the La Liga title will go to the final weekend of the season.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has expressed his belief that the La Liga title race will go to the final weekend of the season.

Los Blancos dropped two points in a 1-1 draw with Villarreal on Sunday, but remain two points clear of second-placed Barcelona with 13 games of the season remaining.

Reigning champions Atletico Madrid, however, are now seven points off the pace.

"I think the team is improving. We lost two points but La Liga will be decided on the last day," Ancelotti has been quoted as saying by Inside Spanish Football. "The two point advantage isn't much but we have to enjoy ourselves and keep pressing forward because we have a difficult game ahead of us."

Barcelona and Real Madrid meet at the Camp Nou later this month.
