Real Madrid midfielder Marco Asensio reveals his delight after scoring a standout goal against Las Palmas to help the La Liga giants end a run of back-to-back defeats.

Real Madrid youngster Marco Asensio has revealed his pleasure after helping guide the club to victory over Las Palmas at the weekend.

Real were able to put an end to back-to-back defeats at the hands of Girona and Tottenham Hotspur with a 3-0 win in La Liga, thanks to a standout strike from Asensio, alongside further efforts from Casemiro and Isco.

"I scored another good goal. I was able to hit the ball well, it went in and was a great goal," Asensio told reporters after the game.

"We knew that Las Palmas were a good team who looked after the ball well. In the second half they dropped off a bit and we improved some things after the break.

"We were able to get into goalscoring positions more easily and scored two more goals that have given us the victory."

The win leaves Real eight points adrift of rivals Barcelona at the top of the La Liga table.
