Gareth Bale: 'Cristiano Ronaldo absence not a problem'

Gareth Bale says that Real Madrid will not suffer in the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo, who could miss their next three games through suspension.

Gareth Bale is confident that Real Madrid can cope in the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese is poised to receive a three-game ban after being sent off for kicking out at Edimar in Saturday's 2-1 win over Cordoba.

The suspension would come at an awkward time for the Blancos, who face city rivals Atletico Madrid on February 7.

"[Cristiano's] red was a disappointment, but I didn't see what happened so I can't say any more," Bale told reporters.

"The squad is big enough. The team have played games without him and gone forward."

Ronaldo, who won the Ballon d'Or earlier this month, has netted 28 times in 18 La Liga outings for Real this season.
