Eric Abidal is set to lose his job as Barcelona's sporting director, with head coach Quique Setien also leaving the club, according to a report.

Eric Abidal is reportedly set to lose his job as Barcelona's sporting director as the Catalan giants prepare for a revamp ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.

Barca finished second behind Real Madrid in this season's La Liga, while they were incredibly beaten 8-2 by Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals of the Champions League on Friday night.

Quique Setien will allegedly be sacked as head coach next week, and according to Sport, Abidal will be next out of the door as the club prepare to restructure.

The report claims that Abidal's continued support for Setien has not been well received, and the former defender will be leaving the club in the near future.

The 40-year-old, who represented Barca on close to 200 occasions as a player, replaced Roberto Fernandez as the club's sporting director in June 2018.

Gerard Pique called for widespread changes at Camp Nou in the aftermath of Friday's shock loss to Bayern.
