Brazil reportedly receive a written agreement indicating that Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is willing to take on the country's manager's position.

Brazil have reportedly reached a written agreement for Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti to become the national team's head coach in 2024.

Ancelotti is currently in his third season with Real Madrid since returning to the club in the summer of 2021.

Although he has won six trophies during his second spell, it remains unclear whether he will be at the helm for the 2024-25 campaign.

For the majority of 2023, Ancelotti has been linked with the Brazil job, with the nation's football association keen to appoint the Italian.

Fernando Diniz, who replaced Tite earlier this year, is currently in charge of the national side, but he is balancing his duties with his role as Fluminense head coach.

With Diniz appointed on a one-year deal, speculation continues to grow that Ancelotti will take over the role at the end of the current season.

The Real Madrid boss, who has never been head coach of a national team, is in the final year of his contract which expires in June 2024.

According to The Athletic, Brazil's football association (CBF) have already received written communication that Ancelotti would be willing to take on the role next year.

The report suggests that the CBF has "legal guarantees" that Ancelotti will succeed Diniz, although any agreement is not believed to be legally binding.

With the 64-year-old set to enter the final six months of his deal, he will be free to negotiate with other teams from January.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, have not ruled out the possibility of offering Ancelotti a new contract, especially if the team continue to produce positive results.

Los Blancos are currently enjoying a 13-game unbeaten in all competitons, while they have won each of their last five matches.

They eased through their Champions League group and sit joint-top of La Liga alongside surprise package Girona on 38 points.

Should Ancelotti depart at the end of the season, former Real Madrid player and current Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso would top the club's wishlist.
