Fidel Chaves: 'We can beat Real Madrid'

Elche winger Fidel Chaves insists that his side can overcome Real Madrid in their league meeting on Wednesday evening.

Elche winger Fidel Chaves is confident that the newly-promoted outfit can upset Real Madrid in their league meeting on Wednesday evening.

Chaves's side have not recorded a La Liga win this season, but the 23-year-old insists that "anything is possible".

"We know the potential of Real Madrid, they are one of the best teams in the world and we know that it will be tough to beat them, but as is with every week, we will play to try to make sure that the points remain at the Martinez Valero," Fidel told reporters at a press conference.

"During the game, anything is possible. It is 90 minutes long and we will try to be strong and have intensity, to not allow them control. We are a small team but we have our weapons and we will try to exploit them. There is no need to change our way of playing for the fact that we are playing Real Madrid.

"We are working so as not to leave any spaces for Real Madrid, because we know that they can do much harm if given metres, because they have people who are very quick. We have to be very careful and keep the lines of the team close together, because it will not be comfortable in the field as they have players of great quality, the best in the world."

Real Madrid have won four of their first five league matches this season.
