Dalian Yifang appoint former Real Madrid boss Bernd Schuster

Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang announce that they have appointed former Real Madrid boss Bernd Schuster as the club's new manager.

Former Real Madrid boss Bernd Schuster has been named as the new manager of Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang.

Last season, Dalian regained their place in China's top flight and the Blue Hawks have ambitions to make an impact towards the top of the standings.

However, despite signing Yannick Carrasco, Nicolas Gaitan and Jose Fonte from Atletico Madrid and West Ham United respectively, the club sit bottom of the league after three games and the decision has been made to sack Ma Lin.

Dalian have opted to name Schuster as the replacement, with the German having spent four years out of the dugout since leaving Malaga in 2014.

Between July 2007 and December 2008, Schuster won 44 of his 75 games in charge of Real Madrid, who won the La Liga title in his only full season in charge.
