Edimar 'forgives' Cristiano Ronaldo

Cordoba defender Edimar insists that he 'forgives' Cristiano Ronaldo for the Real Madrid attacker's conduct during their La Liga clash on Saturday.

Cordoba defender Edimar has insisted that he 'holds no grudge' against Cristiano Ronaldo after the Real Madrid attacker saw red in their La Liga meeting on Saturday.

Ronaldo kicked out at Edimar, who is on loan at Cordoba from Chievo, in the latter stages of the match, when the score was still 1-1.

Real Madrid went on to claim all the points, but Edimar has forgiven Ronaldo for the off-the-ball incident.

"I expect a normal punishment. I know Cristiano apologised over social media. On my part, he's forgiven," Edimar told reporters.

"Cristiano's head was a little hot and he was a little frustrated because things weren't going very well for him.

"But it's something which can happen to any of us. I think that's what happened and that's it. I forgive Cristiano Ronaldo and hold no grudge."

Ronaldo is still waiting to learn whether he will receive a one-game or a three-game ban.
