Malaga's Joaquin: 'We can finish second in La Liga'

Joaquin believes that Malaga can defeat Real Madrid at home on Saturday and also finish second in La Liga this season.

Malaga winger Joaquin believes that his side are capable of finishing second in La Liga this season.

The Andalucian club, who will host Real Madrid on Saturday, are currently fourth in the table with 28 points from 16 matches.

"If we beat Madrid, we will go to within two points," he told reporters. "We are capable of fighting for [second and third] places and while the table says otherwise, we will fight until the end.

"Yes, [Real Madrid] are stronger opponents. But we have another chance, it's a good time [to face them] and they are not at their best.

"We will try to go on holiday with the joy of a good win against Real Madrid. We have two straight wins at home and are playing pretty well."

Malaga finished fourth in La Liga last season.
