Jose Mourinho has opened the door on a potential return to Real Madrid at the end of the 2018-19 campaign.

Santiago Solari is currently in charge of the first team at the Bernabeu, but it has been reported that the Spaniard needs to win the Champions League this season to stand a chance of keeping his job.

Madrid have suffered successive home defeats to Barcelona over the last few days, the first of which dumped them out of the Copa del Rey and the second of which all but ended their already-slim La Liga title hopes.

Tottenham Hotspur's Mauricio Pochettino, Juventus's Massimiliano Allegri and Germany's Joachim Low are all believed to be under consideration, but Mourinho has talked-up a return to the European champions.

"To a club that I have been before? If I think the right club, the right structure, the right ambitions, I will have no problem at all," Mourinho told beIN SPORTS.

"I think it's really a reason of pride when a club where you worked before wanting you back. They are the iconic club, I think so you know 13 Champions Leagues."

Mourinho, who was sacked by Manchester United in December, previously managed Madrid between 2010 and 2013, winning one La Liga title and one Copa del Rey during his time at the club.
