La Liga stars Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Andres Iniesta have been shortlisted for FIFA's Ballon d'Or award.

Barcelona star Messi, who clinched the honour last year, is favourite to be named the best player in the world once again after racking up 82 goals - which is three short of Gerd Mueller's record made in 1972 - this calendar year.

Real Madrid maestro Ronaldo, who won the award in 2008, was instrumental in Real's league win under manager Jose Mourinho last year.

Meanwhile, former Barca boss Pep Guardiola, La Liga-winning manager Mourinho and Spain boss Vicente del Bosque have been shortlisted for coach of the year.
