Villarreal boss Marcelino hails inexperienced side

Villarreal boss Marcelino praises his under-strength side for claiming a draw at Real Madrid in the league on Sunday.

Villarreal boss Marcelino has hailed his team following their 1-1 draw at Real Madrid in the league on Sunday.

The Spaniard selected a second-string XI at the Bernabeu due to their involvement in the Copa del Rey semi-finals next week and exertions in the Europa League.

However, the Yellow Submarine managed to claim an unlikely point courtesy of a strike from Gerard Moreno.

"We have many players who have less than 100 games in the first division... 19, 20, 21 years old, but these experiences add to our competitive level. I'm delighted for these players tonight," Inside Spanish Football has quoted Marcelino as saying.

Villarreal are just the second team to stop Real Madrid winning on their own patch in the league this season.
