Belgium boss Roberto Martinez has admitted that Eden Hazard's lack of game time at Real Madrid this season has been "unusual".
The 30-year-old has endured an injury-hit career at the Bernabeu since joining from Chelsea in 2019, but has largely been fit and available so far in 2021-22.
However, the attacker has started just four La Liga matches this term under Carlo Ancelotti, and Martinez has questioned his lack of action.
"It is an unusual situation, we did not expect it. Medically speaking, he is fine and we know that he is doing extra work to be in shape," Martinez told HLN.
"He wants to do everything possible to reach his maximum level again.
"We won't get worried until Eden stops enjoying football, but for now, that is not the case. I think he can finish the season strong."
Hazard is expected to feature for Belgium when they take on Estonia in a World Cup qualifier on Saturday.
