Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has admitted that he is confused with Iker Casillas's situation at Real Madrid.
Casillas has been with Los Blancos since 1990, but despite his service, the goalkeeper has a strained relationship with the club's supporters.
It is understood that Real Madrid are attempting to replace Casillas with Manchester United's David de Gea this summer and Pique has claimed that he 'looks on in disbelief' at the developments.
"I don't know exactly what is happening. From the outside I look on with a bit of disbelief, not knowing why that is the situation," Pique told Mundo Deportivo.
"I have a very good relationship with Iker. I don't know what the solution is but it doesn't change the fact he has been a great goalkeeper, and an example as captain of a great institution in Real Madrid."
Pique has played alongside Casillas for Spain since 2009.
