Paris Saint-Germain have rejected a bid from Real Madrid for the services of their head coach Carlo Ancelotti.
Recent speculation has linked the Italian with the role at the Bernabeu, which is expected to be vacated by Jose Mourinho this summer.
While the approach for Ancelotti was turned down by his French employers, Madrid's move for the former Chelsea coach has given the strongest indication yet that Mourinho will leave at the end of the campaign.
PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi confirmed the reports this afternoon by saying: "[Real Madrid] came and I discussed it with them, but Ancelotti has got a contract with us for one more year.
"He will be here next year. He is a fantastic guy and I'm sure he will respect his contract."
Under Ancelotti's guidance, PSG won their first Ligue 1 title in 19 years last night.
