Hugo Sanchez: 'Cristiano Ronaldo is always kicked and provoked'

Real Madrid legend Hugo Sanchez responds to Cristiano Ronaldo's recent red-card controversy by suggesting that the frontman is "always kicked and provoked".

Real Madrid legend Hugo Sanchez has suggested that frontman Cristiano Ronaldo "is always provoked" by his opponents, following the striker's recent red-card controversy.

The Portuguese star was handed a straight red after kicking out at Cordoba's Edimar, with Sanchez alluding to the fact that the Ballon d'Or winner is often wound up by other players on the pitch.

"It's no wonder Ronaldo erupted, he is always kicked and provoked. I understand it, but hopefully he has learned from the incident and doesn't repeat it," said Sanchez, according to Goal.com.

Ronaldo received a two-match ban following the incident.
