Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez has called his strike against Real Madrid at the weekend 'the best goal of his career'.
The 20-year-old did not start nor finish his side's 4-0 win, but played a key role – scoring the second, before setting up Antoine Griezmann for goal number three.
The youngster has paid tribute to his goal, which he admitted that he did not see go in.
"It's the best goal of my career, for how I scored, the calm it gave us as the second goal of the game and for the opponent," he told Atletico's official website.
"I think it's a goal that defines me as a player. I like to break through the lines.
"I can't describe how it felt. In my face there's a mixture of happiness and liberation. My father says that when I got up I ran around [Sami] Khedira and ran like I was crazy. The truth is I didn't see it go in. Not until I got home, when I could see it again."
Atletico's victory was their first against Real Madrid in the league at the Vicente Calderon since the 1998-99 season.
