Terry Yorath: 'Bale may miss many Wales matches'

Former Wales manager Terry Yorath fears Gareth Bale could miss many more international matches after suffering a leg injury.

Former Wales manager Terry Yorath has admitted that Gareth Bale could miss a number of international matches after sustaining a leg injury.

The Football Association of Wales confirmed the 24-year-old's absence ahead of the friendly against Netherlands on June 4, stating Bale has been "troubled with a leg muscle injury for a few weeks".

It is not the first time that Bale has been unavailable for international duty, and Yorath believes that the withdrawal could be the first of many more.

"It's a situation [boss] Chris Coleman has got to get used to," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

"I think it's the managers not the players. I think they put pressure on them not to play."

The Welshman joined Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur for a record £85.3m last summer.
