Vinicius Junior has revealed that he has asked Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane for more playing time as he looks to build on what was an impressive debut season at the Bernabeu.
The 19-year-old made 36 appearances for Los Blancos during the 2018-19 campaign, contributing seven goals and 13 assists in all competitions following a switch from Flamengo.
Vinicius - a reported summer transfer target for Arsenal - has only started once in La Liga for Los Blancos this season, though, despite the club's injury problems in the final third.
When discussing his role on the field, the Brazil international revealed that he had held talks with Zidane to ask for more playing time in the coming weeks.
"The right-footed players like to play on the left, like [Eden] Hazard," Vinicius told AS. "I am adapting to my new position but on the right I have a lot more difficulties.
"I am training hard and asking the coach that he puts me on the pitch. To have the possibilities to play on both flanks helps me both in Madrid and for Brazil."
Los Blancos have won one and drawn two of their three league matches at the start of the 2019-20 campaign, with a total of five points leaving them in fifth spot.
