Zinedine Zidane: 'James Rodriguez, Marcelo, Casemiro rested'

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane reveals that James Rodriguez, Marcelo and Casemiro will not be involved in Saturday's La Liga clash with Osasuna.

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has revealed that James Rodriguez, Marcelo and Casemiro will not be involved in Saturday's La Liga clash with Osasuna due to their international commitments.

James played twice for Colombia during the recent international break, while Marcelo and Casemiro featured twice for Brazil in qualification matches for the 2018 World Cup.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of this weekend's clash, Zidane, whose team sit third in La Liga after two games of the new campaign, has confirmed that the trio will be rested.

"James, Marcelo and Casemiro played two full games [on international break] and are a bit tired, so it's best to give them some rest," Zidane told reporters.

Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo, however, will both return to the squad after recovering from hip and knee injuries respectively.
