Friday's Real Madrid transfer talk news roundup: Gareth Bale, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Sergio Reguilon

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer talk for Real Madrid on Friday, September 18.

The summer transfer window has now begun, with rumours and speculation continuing to swirl as Real Madrid eye possible reinforcements.

Florentino Perez oversaw a significant overhaul of his squad last summer before focusing more on youth in January. As is always the case with Madrid, though, some of the biggest names in football continue to be linked, even in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news of possible comings and goings at the Bernabeu.

Friday morning's Real Madrid transfer talk news roundup:

Report: Gareth Bale to complete Tottenham Hotspur loan return on Friday

Gareth Bale will fly to England on Friday to finalise his season-long loan switch from Real Madrid to former club Tottenham Hotspur, according to a report.

Spurs moved ahead of Manchester United in the race to sign the Wales international earlier this week and are now seemingly on the verge of completing a deal.

The 31-year-old's agent Jonathan Barnett has confirmed that talks are progressing between the two clubs, although an agreement is not yet thought to be in place.

However, BBC Sport claims that Bale is expected to be in a position to put pen to paper on a return to Spurs at some point in the next 24 hours or so.

Bale joined Tottenham from Southampton in 2007 and spent six years in North London before joining Madrid for a then-record £85m fee.

During his time in the Spanish capital, the Welshman has scored more than 100 goals and won four Champions Leagues, but he was frozen out by boss Zinedine Zidane last season.

Sergio Reguilon 'arrives for Tottenham Hotspur medical'

Sergio Reguilon is reportedly at Tottenham Hotspur's training ground undergoing a medical as he closes in on a £25m move to Jose Mourinho's side.

Spurs have seemingly beaten Manchester United to the signing of the 23-year-old, who excelled during a loan spell at Sevilla during the 2019-20 campaign.

According to the Evening Standard, Reguilon arrived at Hotspur Way on Wednesday night for a medical, which is due to run into Thursday.

The report claims that Mourinho's team are expected to officially confirm a deal before Thursday's Europa League clash with Lokomotiv Plovdiv in Bulgaria.

Madrid will have the chance to re-sign Reguilon for £36m within two years, while Los Blancos will also allegedly have the opportunity to meet any future fee that Spurs agree with another club.

The left-back could make his Tottenham debut against Southampton in the Premier League on Sunday.
